                                                    ANTIQUES and VINTAGE GLASS

My Glass Addiction Runneth Over........
It all started with a $95 Vase I bought at an antique mall.  I had $100 in my pocket
one day and decided to treat myself to whatever I found interesting  at the local
antique mall.   I came out of there with a large orange and black art glass vase.
I found it strangely attractive, and captivating.  I call it "monarch" as the colors
remind me of a monarch butterfly.  It is also the " monarch", or first piece I ever
collected.     Yes it's a bad addiction when you start naming your glass....
My
collecting is what gave me the idea to try making glass.

The challenge of finding and then identifying a nice piece of art glass is fun.   It's
kind of like treasure hunting.   I have collected all kinds of glass over the years.
Bohemian and czech glass, early american art glass, carnival glass, vaseline
glass, Italian glass, modern studio glass, mid-century glass, Fenton glass etc.
There is no single glass arena or style limiting my enthusiasm for glass.

My collection steadily grew.  I began buying to sell in antique malls.   You really
have to know your glass to make a buck that way.

Many years later, my collection has outgrown the space I have available to display
it.    I have decided to downsize and share some of my fabulous 'finds' with other
glass fans.
